They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Even though I typically skip out on breakfast, I always make sure to eat a good breakfast while traveling. Having a balanced breakfast helps keep you energized for a day full of exploring, and it’s always fun to try out the local offerings.
Last summer, my boyfriend and I took the “Great American Road Trip.” We loaded up my car and drove from Kentucky to Las Vegas and back, stopping at sites along the way and exploring our beautiful country. Our first overnight stop was Little Rock, Arkansas – a place we’d never been before.
We decided to not spend a whole lot of time in Little Rock, mainly because it’s a relatively short drive from where we live. If we decide we want to go back, we could make it into an easy long weekend getaway.
We ended up getting into the city, spending the night at the Holiday Inn Little Rock Presidential Downtown, and crashing after a long travel day. If you’re planning a trip to Little Rock, I highly recommend this hotel. It’s close to the city’s top attractions such as the Clinton Presidential Library, and the staff was so friendly – possibly the friendliest I’ve ever encountered at a hotel! Free parking is included, but the breakfast buffet is not free.

Since we weren’t really feeling spending money on an average hotel breakfast buffet, we decided to do some research on Little Rock’s breakfast scene. Thanks to Yelp, we came upon At the Corner, a cute diner claimed by many to have the best breakfast in Little Rock.

At the Corner
At the Corner is a family-owned diner located on the corner of Markham Street and Scott Street in downtown Little Rock. I always make it a priority to try local restaurants while traveling, making At the Corner the perfect choice.
We chose to drive to At the Corner from our hotel so that we could begin the drive to our next stop after our meal. If you’re driving, metered parking is available on the street for $1.00 per hour. If you’d rather walk, the diner is just about 15 minutes from the Holiday Inn Presidential. It’s also nearby several other downtown Little Rock hotels and right in the middle of the city’s top tourist attractions.
When we arrived, the diner was a little busy, but we were quickly greeted and told to sit anywhere we’d like. We were given menus and told to order at the counter when we were ready.
I decided to go with the Cowboy Breakfast, which includes biscuits, house-made sausage gravy, fried chicken, and a sunny-side-up egg for $13. My boyfriend decided to go with their famous pancakes, topped with berries and served with bacon for $11. Other stand-outs on the menu included the Summer Dutchman (a breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, avocado, potatoes, peppers, onions, and more) and the Corner Poutine.
The Best Breakfast in Little Rock?
After a short wait, our waitress brought our food. Our plates were loaded down with delicious breakfast food – we couldn’t wait to dig in!
I’m a big fan of biscuits and gravy – it’s one of the reasons I don’t think I’d be able to move to another country long-term! At the Corner’s biscuits and gravy is one of the best biscuits and gravy I’ve gotten from a restaurant. The biscuits were nice and fluffy and the gravy had the perfect flavor of sausage and black pepper. The crispy fried chicken tenders were a perfect complement to the dish. They were so good dipped in the gravy!
The pancakes were amazing as well – my boyfriend said they might be the best he’s ever had! They were fluffy and soft on the inside while having the perfect crisp on the outside. They were sweet, but not too sweet, which is personally my favorite kind of pancake.
Our verdict? At the Corner Diner has one of the best breakfasts in Little Rock, Arkansas.

At the Corner is open Tuesday – Friday from 7 AM to 2 PM, Saturday for brunch from 8:30 AM to 2 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM. It’s closed on Mondays.
A meal will range around $10-$15 per person. You can choose to eat in the diner or give them a call at 1-501-400-8458 for take-out.

What Next?
If you’re wanting to explore Little Rock after your delicious breakfast at At the Corner, you’ll be in the perfect place. At the Corner is across the street from Little Rock’s River Market and nearby several museums such as the Museum of Discovery, the Historic Arkansas Museum, and the Clinton Presidential Library & Museum.
If you like gyros, get one from the Middle Eastern Cuisine stall in the River Market. We walked around a little before heading out of Little Rock and my boyfriend decided to get one. It was so good!
Little Rock currently doesn’t have any free guided walking tours, but they do have a suggestion for a self-guided tour itinerary.
I can’t wait to go back to Little Rock and experience everything the city has to offer!
So, does At the Corner have the best breakfast in Little Rock? Since it’s the only breakfast we tried in the city, I can’t give an accurate answer. However, I can tell you that my experience at At the Corner was fabulous. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the location is perfect for exploring Little Rock.
